Location: Trenčín airport
Curated by: Ilona Németh
To mark Pohoda Festival's 30th anniversary, longtime Visual Stage curator Ilona Németh has prepared a powerful selection of contemporary visual art, complemented by two special projects personally chosen by Michal Kaščák. Together, they present works that respond to today's reality, encourage critical dialogue, and reflect the values Pohoda has stood for and protected over the past three decades. The Visual Stage serves as a platform for contemporary visual art, enriching the festival programme with installations, performances, and discussions.
BambooKaza
GUIDED TOUR: SATURDAY, JULY 11, 2026: 2:00 PM – 2:20 PM
BambooKaza is an artistic-architectural project by the studio transparadiso (Barbara Holub/ Paul Rajakovics), consisting of foldable bamboo canopies that serve as mobile structures ("islands") designed to create spaces for social gathering and informal congress centres. These artistic constructions function as protection from sun and rain ("a roof for the community") and as spaces for discussions on resolving social conflicts.
The BambooKaza visual stage at the Pohoda festival is part of the Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture project and is supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum Bratislava.
The BambooKaza was conceived for the Third World Congress of the Missing Things, a project for NORMAL – Direct Urbanism x 4, Graz Culture Year 2020/2021, Graz, 2021.
