The exhibition at the House of Architecture in Graz presented themes for PLATZEN that public works collected during their first intervention in October 2020, already embedded in a larger context, connecting the specific situation in Andritz to Superstudio and other references.

Public works realized their first public event for PLATZEN - School for Civic Action at Andritz Main Square in Oct. 2020.
Recently they started online "Stammtische" ("Stammtisch" is a gathering of locals in pubs) together with Studio Magic to explore topics for PLATZEN.

At the main square in Andritz, public works will realize PLATZEN – School for Civic Action from July 14-18, 2021. Following on from the School for Civic Action public works carried out in Roskilde (DK) in 2018-2020, they will ask what role a district’s main square can play in relation to the city's main square and invite the residents to participate. What do we want from a main square today, in 2021?

For PLATZEN public works and Studio Magic will install special objects at the main square in Andritz, which will transform the square into a temporary, experimental school setting in public space for enhancing participation and transforming the square by "re-desiring": A wandering tower, open workshops for producing wish-plackards, as well as for building "furniture for square-appropriation". In addition, they invite you to the "Demonstration of Wishes", a tour with Jimi Lend that connects history and wishful thinking.
